Agiu Georgiu - Greek tavern in Ostrava

The Greek tavern Agiu Georgiu was opened at the end of April 2009, just on the day of Agios Georgios – Saint George. The tavern offers authentic Greek food and atmosphere in the area of Poruba Castle. Traditional music coming from the mainland and Greek islands, wall painting illustrating Cretan legend „Erotokritos“, Byzantine mosaic, orthodox icons, Greek herbs and old family photos evoke a feeling of the Greek countryside in one room and Byzantine Empire in another one.

Greek cuisine has a tradition of thousands of years. It is well known for its beneficial effect on human health. Our chefs prepare traditional meals entirely made of fresh ingredients mostly imported from Greece. Cretan virgin oil, Greek yoghurt, sheep cheese, Peloponnesian olives and Greek mountain oregano are the examples of those that can not be substituted. Besides the dishes, you can taste great, diverse wines typical for various parts of Greece.

The guests of Agiu Georgiu Greek tavern have a great possibility to get to know all the courses typical for Greek dining and comfortably enjoy the broad range of tastes.
We wish you an unforgettable experience in the spirit of Greek hospitality.
